12 - How to create hierarchical (nested) tables
- Select the first level questions into the row or columns drop areas.
- To create a columns hierarchy: Select the question(s) in the column group you want to be a first level question
- Then, above, select "Hierarchy" then "Add hierarchy"
- Select the question(s) you want as a second level
- The table will now have two levels in the column. It will show what questions are used for the hierarchical level
- You can do this in the same way in the table rows. Select the question(s) in the row group you want as a first level question.
- Select "Hierarchy" then "Add hierarchy" and select second level question
- Update, and the table with the merged categories will appear.
- If you want to edit the hierarchy questions, e.g. to merge categories,
- select the column question icon
- Select "Edit hierarchy"
- Edit the question(s) in the second level
- The merged categories will now appear in the table
In Research Studio Analyzer, it is simple to create an extra hierarchical level to the tables, both in table columns and in table rows.
